Changing Pool Settings

To change settings for a pool, open the desired pool from the myPools page.
General Pool settings are then found under the [Pool Settings -> Basic Settings] menu item.

Only users with administrative privileges will see this menu item. Some selections are available only with the draft-style pool.

Pick Same Players (draft-style only)

This setting affects how players are picked on the Pick Players screen.
It determines whether or not a poolie can pick a player that has already been picked.
If a player has already been picked, and the setting does not allow duplicate picks, then the player will be crossed out in red on the picklist and not be available for selection.
Otherwise, the player will be available.

Note that when you switch between the settings, there is no check performed to see if any duplicates exist on past picks. A check only occurs at the time the player is picked.

Max Players per Team (draft-style only)

This option sets a limit on the number of players that can be on a poolie’s team.
This setting is useful when you want to allow poolies to enter their own teams but want to ensure they don’t pick too many players.
(See the Poolie Lock setting for more information).

Trash Talk

Armchair Pools uses filtering to limit offensive language on our trash talk boards.
Unfortunately, filters can only do so much and if someone wants to be rude, we can’t stop them.
However, you can. If you find someone abusing the trash talk board, you can simply disable the trash talk screen and no one will be able to post messages, or read previous posts.

Poolie Lock

In order to make the pool administrator’s job easier, the Armchair Pools interface allows poolies to enter their own players and change the name of their team.
When the lock is turned off, all poolies will be able to perform these functions. If the administrator decides that he does not want poolies to be able to make changes, the lock can be turned on.

It is useful to leave the lock off before the pool starts and then turn it on so poolies cannot change their teams mid season.
