I struggled to find a dirty player for Columbus. I promised myself I would not mix up enforcers with dirty players but for Columbus I will make an exception. Mostly because they didn't have many players who come close to fitting the profile of a dirty player. Also, because I followed this player closely when he almost single handedly won my hockey pool and I know he is one nasty fellow.
Krzysztof Oliwa played on 6 different teams over a 12 year period. He racked up 1400 penalty minutes in just 400 games while scoring 45 points. Needless to say, his job was to punch people. And
he did it well.
I know. I'm selling out. Just because a player fights, does not make him a dirty player.
Tell that to his girlfriend. From
Wikipedia.
"In 2007, Oliwa was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend with a hockey stick. Among the injuries to her were a broken nose, choke marks, and bruises on her arms, back, and ribs. Oliwa potentially faces three months to five years in jail."
