Create your hockey pool for the 2010 Olympics now

The Olympic season at Armchair Pools is open for business. Any pool created between now and the end of the 2010 Olympics will be an Olympic pool.

We have loaded all of the rosters for all 12 Olympic teams. The boxes for our box-style pool have been built. Note that if box pools are not your thing, you can create a draft-style pool right now and pick any player on an Olympic roster.

All Olympic pools are only $5 but come with a free trial that lasts from now until a few days into the Olympics so come check it out for free. If you find any roster issues, please let us know. But please keep it clean. We had one user tell me to go f%k myself because he could not find Mikael Samuelson on Team Sweden.

Also, a lot of people have been complaining that Chris Pronger is still in our system under Team Canada. I sincerely apologize for this. We purged all of the players from the 2006 Olympic team and loaded the 2010 team. However, somehow he did not disappear and seems to be on the 2010 team. I keep trying to remove him, but I get this message that says "User cannot be removed. Please talk to Hockey Canada" every time I hit the delete button.

Hopefully I will figure out a way to get him removed before the games start, however it might not happen. I hope this does not cause you (or Canada) grief during the Olympics.

hi, me and some of my buds will be going through withdrawls as our pool shuts down for the olympics. however, we will have about 10 guys using your system to run an olympic pool. is it $5 per person/team that is in the pool and how do we pay?

Hi Al,

It’s $5 per Olympic pool. So for you and your 10 friends, it would be $5 – not $50.

The price is the same for both the box style and draft pool. You pay for your pool after you create it – we have a free trial that will end around the start of the Olympics so you can ‘try before you buy’. The box definitions will be out on or before Jan 15th.

Feel free to post any other questions you have. We will answer them fairly quickly.

Sorry Al, I just noticed the question about payment method.

Each pool has a free trial which starts now and lasts a few days after the Olympics has started. This gives you a chance to test drive the site and make sure it is what you want.

When you want to pay, simply open your pool from the myPools page and click on the ‘payment’ link on the top right of the menu. You will be taken to a payment form where you can pay with a credit card.
